Women’s bodies alter dramatically as they pass through their thirties and into their forties. The body’s metabolism, which had been faster up to that point, begins to slow down, resulting in fewer calories being burned in a shorter period of time. This leads to weight growth, and reducing weight becomes a difficult task. The body’s sugar cravings grow stronger, and energy levels begin to dwindle. Due to a lower metabolic rate, women who are engaged in their workout program begin to accumulate weight around their stomach region.

This, however, can be mitigated by implementing simple alterations in one’s everyday routine. Women over forty can have a better life by adjusting their diet and watching what they eat, as well as doing the correct kind of activity on a daily basis. Anjali Mukerjee, a nutritionist who is known for regularly giving fitness-related ideas and information on her Instagram feed, provided her thoughts on how to stay active after forty. She jotted down some pointers that should be included into one’s everyday routine:
Nuts and seeds as a snack – Instead of snacking on processed meals and sugary foods, Anjali advised ladies to eat healthy foods like nuts and seeds, particularly almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds, which are high in nutrients.

Protein consumption

Anjali advised that after the age of forty, the body’s protein intake should be increased.

Exercise

The more you exercise, the more fit you are. To keep fit and in shape, it is recommended that you commit to a workout regimen and follow it religiously on a daily basis.

Add fiber to your diet

Sanja, chia seeds, and Isabgul are high in fiber and provide a number of health benefits. Fibres in the form of these foods, according to the dietitian, should be included in the diet.

Fill the Void

Be conscious of your body’s deficiencies and, as a result, take the supplements your body requires.

Take whole grains

Whole grains, fresh fruits, and fresh vegetables should be consumed on a daily basis, preferably in the form of home-cooked meals. Anjali did mention, however, that wheat should be avoided when eating out.

Sleep aids in the rejuvenation of the body and the relaxation of the mind. Women over the age of forty, according to the dietician, should get eight hours of sleep per day to rest their bodies and minds.
