The state of India’s Uttar Pradesh (UP) is prepared to make a huge splash in the tourism industry after the state cabinet approved four new heliports.

The state tourism board recommended the additional heliports, which would be located in the popular tourist destinations of Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mathura, and Agra. Other than helicopters, the new heliports will be used for a variety of vertical lift aircraft.

“With a view to promote tourist destinations, the Ministry of Tourism has issued guidelines to extend financial assistance to state governments/Union Territory administrations for the construction of heliports under the Scheme of Product/ Infrastructure Development for Destinations and Circuits,” according to an official document from the Union Tourism Ministry.

All four cities in the circuit are well-known tourist sites in India, with Agra being home to the Taj Mahal, Mathura and Prayagaraj being revered by Hindus, and Lucknow standing out for its beautiful architecture, unique culture, and internationally acclaimed food.
