Janya’s Journey

Janya’s Journey

With it being Flu season and with the Flu going around massive this year, Janya’s mother, Linda, decided to fix Janya a care package. It included purse size items such as hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, Lysol spray and a low dose pack of Vitamin C. Janya was thrilled with her care package and even had an idea to fix the same type of package for others. Janya feels like that everyone wants to stay well but items such as Janya had can be costly especially if you have more than one child so Janya thought if she could fix and donate to others it would help out those in need and help to stop the spread of the Flu. Janya stated that she knows that teachers try to have extra on hand but they can not purchase everything so she knew these items would come in handy in the class room as well. The group that Janya was wanting to help the most was the younger children. She chose that age because Janya has been hearing in the news of the younger ones passing away from the Flu and she wants to help to prevent that. She is devastated that people are losing their lives. Janya has started reading the Wall Street Journal when she is able to get it. She is interested in trying to see how this epidemic of the Flu happened this Flu season and why so many that took the shot has gotten the flu. Janya wants everyone to stay safe and away from the Flu. She encourages everyone to follow these steps from the CDC. Try to avoid close contact with sick people, While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them, If you are sick with flu symptoms, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities, (Your fever should be gone for 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.), Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it, Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub, Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way and Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like the flu.
