Through The Years

With Mr. Ed retiring from Ed’s Truck Stop and Gail Booth Lee taking over has brought back many memories for me that has happened at Ed’s through the years. I can remember when Mr. Ed’s Daughter, Donna was pregnant and not too far away from giving birth to her son when she asked me if I wanted to wait on tables. She laughed and said she would put me to work. Well it wasn’t many years later that I started as a waitress at Ed’s. I loved it. It was so much fun and such a busy little place to work. Sunday’s was busy too but not near as busy as they are these days. It was great to be a part of Ed’s Truck Stop and now to see his grand children working there is exciting to me too. Another great memory is with my daddy. Daddy loved to go to Ed’s. He loved to eat there and look around at the Nascar collection. When my son was born, he always took him in there to show him the cars. He always had to buy him a little car. It was so much fun to me to see their excitement of the Nascar cars. Daddy passed away in 2009 but we were able to celebrate daddy’s 65th birthday at Ed’s. We threw him a surprise birthday party with some of his very special friends. It was such a wonderful time and memories were made that night. We were recently talking about some of the good food that we loved from there. My friend, Shaundra and I use to go there when we were younger and eat Hamburger Steak. It is so delicious there! I started going to Ed’s when I was young, and I brought Larry up on it when he was a baby and because Gail has took over and will
continue on with the traditions others will continue to make memories there as well. Congratulations to both Mr. Ed and Gail!
